Survivor alum Sophie Cachia has spoken about why she believes that lesbian relationships move faster than heterosexual relationships.
During a segment on her Mamamia podcast, HER with Sophie Cachia, the reality star chatted with Alira Potter, who is sexually fluid, about the issue, and both women agreed that there’s an extra level of “relatability’ in lesbian relationships.
“I feel as though the thing that I’ve learned is women know what they want,” Alira told Sophie.
She continued, “I feel like a lot of women will just risk it and be like, ‘I really love this woman and I want to be with them and what’s the harm what’s going to happen? What’s the worst thing that’s going to happen?’ So I’m all for the u-haul life, especially if you meet someone.”
Sophie agreed, saying that she feels as though she can let her guard down quicker when she’s with a woman as opposed to a man.
“I feel like the reason we move so fast is because when you start dating a guy and it’s like, ‘oh, I’ve got to look pretty. I don’t fart and girls don’t poo’, but when it’s a girl, [you say] ‘Ah, fuck. I didn’t share my legs. Like, oh neither did you oh cool’. There’s no issues because there’s that relate-ability immediately, you’re not embarrassed so you almost fast track, those six months of tiptoeing around and you just jump straight into it.”

Sophie was previously married to AFL star, Jaryd Cachia, but came to the realisation in her late 20s that she was attracted to women. She then went public with her ex-fiancée Maddie Garrick in 2021. The two women went through a very public relationship last year, with Sophia announcing their breakup after days after visiting her basketballer fiancee in Italy.
