Sophie Monk has given some insight into what viewers can expect from the upcoming season of Love Island, saying that “it’s a lot looser” than previous seasons.
“It’s a lot looser. Because it’s not on prime time and it’s digital, which is the future,” she told Kyle Sandilands on Kyle and Jackie-O show today.
She added, “It is full on, this [season]. They just throw stuff at them and I’m like, I’ve never seen this on TV before.”
When Kyle asked what Sophie meant, she replied, “Like twists and turns with bombs coming in.”
She joked, “I’m paid to say it’s good, but I legit mean it. It’s so good. It’s real quick too.”
This year’s season of Love Island has returned to Spain, for the first time since season one.
“It’s by far the best villa [of Love Island Australia], it’s huge. They don’t use the same Love Island villas, they have to actually build it, it’s so big and beautiful, they were so lucky this year.”

Sophie mentioned Casa Amor, the infamous week on Love Island where the female and male cast are put in separate villas told the hosts, “I can’t say this year whether that happens. There are a lot of differences this year”
The Love island host also confirmed what most fans already knew, that this year isn’t live and the public aren’t able to vote, except for the finale.
“It’s pre-recorded but Australia still pick the winner,” she said.
Sophie has previously confirmed that viewers can expect to see Al Perkins from MAFS Season nine on this year of Love Island.
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle of the decision to cast Al on the dating show, Monk said: “I thought that was perfect.”
She added, “I was watching him on MAFS and straightaway when I saw him I thought, ‘Why is he not on Love Island?’ because he had never had a girlfriend when he got married. So I think it’s really good for him.
“He’s hilarious and he really had a good time. I don’t want to give too much away, but it was great for him.”
Love island premieres on Monday, October 31st, 2022 at 6pm on 9Now.
