Picture this, it’s a Sunday morning, and you’ve just woken up from a big night out full of good times and many, many alcoholic beverages. You’re clearly feeling last night’s decisions as you try and get up and go about your day, only to be met with the pain and frustration of the dreaded hangover. Well, the good news is that this might one day be a thing of the past, all thanks to a South Korean ice cream bar.

As Reuters reports, a South Korean chain of convenience stores has been selling the ‘Gyeondyo-bar’, which aims to tackle those terrible consequences from excessive alcohol consumption.

Translating to “hang in there”, the Gyeondyo-bar is just one in a series of hangover cures for the Asian country. As Reuters notes, the culture of alcohol consumption in South Korea is so widespread that the hangover cure industry is worth about 150 billion won ($181 million) in annual sales.

The bar, which is grapefruit flavoured and made from oriental raisin tree fruit juice (which researchers noted as reducing intoxication levels in lab rats), has been on sale for quite some time now, but sadly, there are no plans for it to make its way over to Aussie shores, where we are definitely in need of a groundbreaking invention such as this.

So if you’re keen on utilising this seemingly magic invention, it might be best to do all your excessive drinking over in South Korea for the time being.
