NBA star LeBron James makes up one of the many million people who have binge-watched Netflix’s show Squid Game.

While the famous basketball star apparently enjoyed the dystopian drama, a video of him saying that he didn’t like the ending recently surfaced online.

The footage was captured by sports writer Kyle Goon and shows LeBron chatting with teammate Anthony Davis after an interview.

Yeah, I did finish it,” James told Davis. “You finish it? You watched it? You done? Yeah, I didn’t like the ending though. I know they start it off with a Season 2, but, like, get on the f—— flight and go see your daughter, bro. Like, what are you doing?” Lebron was recorded telling Goon.

Now, the creator of Squid Game Hwang Dong-hyuk has responded to the comment in, quite possibly, the politest way humanly possible.

“Have you seen ‘Space Jam 2’?” he said. “LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I’m very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn’t change my ending,” Dong-hyuk said when asked about the clip by the Guardian.

LeBron has seen Dong-hyuks comment and shared his response on Twitter.

“This can’t be real right??!! I hope not,” James wrote alongside a headline of the quote.

Squid Game took the world by storm shortly after it was released in September. The series short straight to the number one watched spot on Netflix and took out Bridgerton to claim the place of the most-watched series of all time so far on the platform.

The show is so successful that it’s actually being sued over its popularity. An internet service provider in South Korea is taking legal action against Netflix and demanding that they pay the extra costs from the increased traffic that Squid Game has generated.
