Stan has unveiled the full list of films and television shows set to hit the streaming platform in May, so let’s take a look at the highlights.
Gaslit is one of the most hotly-anticipated shows of 2022. The popular series stars Julia Roberts and Sean Penn and tells the story of the Watergate scandal which was a complex and groundbreaking political scandal in the US that led to Nixon’s resignation. episode one is already available on the streaming platform, with episode two set for release on the first of the month.
Another episode of a hit US show that’s popping up this month on Stan is the finale for The Girl From Plainville. The critically acclaimed series follows Michelle Carter’s unprecedented “texting-suicide” case. The devastating story is based on a real-life event in which an 18-year-old boy, Conrad Roy III, committed suicide and was encouraged by his girlfriend to do so. Text messages that have been pulled from his and her phones show Carter telling Roy to “drink bleach” and listing ways that the teenager could end his life. The series follows Carter’s court case where she is on trial for involuntary manslaughter, as well as her relationship with Roy while he was alive. The final episode of the eight-part series comes to Stan on May 4th.
