Stan is making another big move, taking a large portion of motorsport television onto their Stan Sport feature.
Stan Sport is now the home for IndyCar, Formula E, the World Rally Championship, World Endurance Championship and the Australian Race Group’s categories and events, which are now labeled as ‘SpeedSeries’.
SpeedSeries presenter Matthew White applauds the shift and thinks despite some reluctance at first, viewers will grow to enjoy the new format.
“I don’t really know what there is to complain about,” says White. “Because, when you think about it, we’ve got another major broadcaster player invested in Australian motorsport that we didn’t have before.”

“So, if you’re a fan of Australian motorsport, and you want Australian motorsport to go well and strong for the future, then the only way to do that is to have investment across the board.”
“Now, we’ve got another serious media player who’s decided to invest in this sport and it comes with the backing of Stan, it comes with the backing of Nine, then there’s a whole reach as well around that.”
“So, it can sit alongside other categories, it can pop its head above other categories, but in my way of thinking, it can only be a plus.”
“This is more investment, more exposure, and more categories getting a good look-in across the board, and streaming is clearly the future, but there will be some great parallels and outcomes throughout Nine and that connection as well.
“So, whilst it will be an adjustment, I think at the end of the day when you have new players investing into the sport, the only outcome of that will be good for the sport.”
White goes on to express how much he commends the new format and enjoys creating something new for motorsport.
“We’re building something new and that always appeals to me,” continues White. “The opportunity to be part of this is what really excites me. The partnership with Stan’s another entirely new aspect to it as well. I think it’s just great for the sport, I really do.”
