Model and actor Suki Waterhouse has taken aim at the Gossip Girl reboot for making a sexist joke about her relationship with Robert Pattinson.

Waterhouse, who has been dating Pattinson since 2018, called out the series for labelling her a “nobody” in its third episode.

The joke in question was made by the character of Luna, played by Zion Moreno, while confronting Whitney Peak’s character Zoya about her public image.

Explaining that Zoya is not considered to be on the same level as her love interest Obie, played by Eli Brown — Luna said, “When are you going to get it? As far as the press is concerned, he’s R-Patz and you’re Suki Nobody.”

In a series of since-deleted tweets, Waterhouse blamed the outdated line on “the patriarchy”.

“Another day to be reminded that women can also be the patriarchy,” she wrote, tagging the episode’s writer Lila Feinberg.

“Seeing critiques of patriarchy and sexism, then I get name-checked as somebody’s ‘nobody’ girlfriend. Make it make sense!” she added.

Contrary to what the show might have you believe, Waterhouse is an in-demand model who has fronted campaigns for the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Burberry and H&M.

On top of that, she has also had roles in popular films like Love Rosie, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Assassination Nation.

This isn’t the first time the butt of one of the show’s jokes has clapped back, as disgraced influencer Olivia Jade also took to social media after being mentioned in an episode.

ICYMI, Jade faced backlash in 2019 when it was discovered that her famous parents Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli had paid $500,000 in bribes to have her and her sister Isabella admitted to the University of Southern California (USC).

The incident was then referenced in the reboot’s pilot when Luna quipped, “Olivia Jade gained followers when her mom went to jail.”

Jade then made a TikTok video of her reacting to the clip. “No, I didn’t,” she said while shaking her head.
