A teenager has been stabbed to death at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney.
Aged just 17, paramedics were unable to save the young boy’s life as he died from his injuries while being taken to Westmead Hospital after being stabbed in the chest. A 16-year-old boy is also in the same hospital in a stable condition after being stabbed in the leg.
The tragic incident took place around 8pm, with shocking footage capturing a wild fight breaking out in front of one of the carnival rides. Two men can be seen brawling as worried families watch on. One of the men is seen punching the other in the ribs and head, before someone else rushes to his aid. A man was arrested at the scene, with footage showing him in handcuffs with blood on his hands.
Other footage showed paramedics performing CPR on someone. Police officers on the scene initially carried out immediate first aid on the boy as they waited for paramedics to arrive. When they did, they found him in cardiac arrest due to the major stab wound to his chest.
“Paramedics performed CPR and a number of other critical interventions at the scene before loading the patients to Westmead Hospital,” Inspector Mark Whittaker of NSW Ambulance said. “Unfortunately despite best efforts he couldn’t be resuscitated.”
“There’s no doubt this would have been a very confronting scene for the dozens of witnesses who were out to enjoy an evening at the Royal Easter Show.”
Anyone with further information about the incident can either contact Auburn Police or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

It comes after the Sydney Royal Easter Show was already plunged into controversy this year after a young boy was pictured unrestrained on one of the rides. The four-year-old, named Tristan Curtis, had to be desperately removed from the ride, with show organisers calling it a “training issue.”
