Audiences across the world will again be able to experience the Sydney Symphony Orchestra with contribution to the new international project, Concert For The Planet, to take place during Earth Hour 2015.

The inagural Concert For The Planet, presented by the Global Orchestra Foundation, will involve musicians across the world being invited to play along with the SSO, by tuning into a live web-stream of the Orchestra performing Holst’s ‘The Planets’.

More than 30 GoPros were used to film the Sydney Symphony Orchestra performing ‘The Planets’, which will be used by musicians around the world to help learn their parts of the piece. The performance will be live streamed on Google+ in the countdown to Earth Hour, showing the SSO’s performance, a POV stream of David Robertson conducting the orchestra, and multiple streams of artists across the world taking part in the performance.

Sydney Symphony Orchestra perform ‘The Planets’ on Saturday March 28 for Earth Hour. More information can be found at globalorchestra.com
