The first trailer for Jojo Rabbit has finally been released and it has got us absolutely hooked, and just a little concerned.

The film is an ‘anti-hate satire’ from director Taika Waititi, that is set in World War II and follows a young boy, Jojo, who befriends an imaginary Adolf Hitler.

Starring our very own Rebel Wilson and well-renowned tree actress Scarlett Johansson, this movie is sure to be a real good time.

Taika Waititi is a New Zealand filmmaker, actor, and comedian who has been working on many great films for quite a few years now. He has directed some of our fave films such as ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ and ‘Hunt for the Wilderpeople’.

He is also set to direct the live-action version of ‘Akira’ and has also just recently announced at San Diego Comic-Con that he will be reprising his directing role for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.

This new film sees Waititi directing and also acting, taking on the role of imaginary Hitler.

The film is based on the book ‘Caging Skies’ by Christine Leunens and follows young boy Jojo being torn between his country and his mother, who he discovers is hiding a young Jewish girl in their attic.

The film is set to release sometime October this year and we are waiting with high anticipation. After his masterful work on ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, we have nothing but high expectations for Waititi’s next directorial effort.

This is Taika Waititi’s first film coming of off ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and is a welcomed breath of fresh air. By the looks of things, the film will hone back to some of Waititi’s earlier projects, which are filled with serious tones of ambition wrapped in a hilarious blanket.

We can’t wait for this satirical masterpiece to be released.
