UPDATE #2: After days of confusion, it’s been confirmed that Tanya Roberts has passed away. Read the latest update here.
UPDATE: Reports about Tanya Roberts’ death may have been exaggerated as she’s reportedly still alive.
Tanya Roberts, the actress who carved out her legacy on That ’70s Show, Charlie’s Angels and as the Bond Girl in A View To Kill, has passed away. She was 65.
As TMZ reports, Roberts collapsed at home after walking her dogs on December 24th. She was taken on the hospital and put on a ventilator but failed to recover. A representative for the actress confirmed that her death was not related to the coronavirus.
Born in The Bronx, New York City on October 15th, 1955, Roberts dropped out of school at fifteen to hitchhike across America. Once she returned to New York, she cut her teeth in the modelling world, appearing in a number of ads.
Roberts then transcended into the acting world, appearing in a select few off-Broadway productions before setting her sights on Hollywood.
Roberts made her film debut in 1975 with her appearance in the horror film Forced Entry. Her career picked up steam in 1980, after she was cast to replace Shelley Hack in the fifth season of Charlie’s Angels.

She would later go on to star in a number of films including films Sins Of Desire, Favorite Deadly Sins, Legal Tender, Deep Down, Inner Sanctum, Night Eyes, Almost Pregnant, Tourist Trap, and Sheena: Queen Of The Jungle. Roberts was thrust into the spotlight in 1985 after she was cast as Bond girl Stacey Sutton in 1985’s A View To A Kill.
In the autumn years of her career, Roberts played the role of the beloved Midge Pinciotti, mother of Donna Pinciotti in cult sitcom That 70s’ Show from 1998-2004. She left the show prematurely to look after her husband Barry Roberts, after he was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Following the death of her husband in 2006, Roberts seemingly left acting altogether.
Our deepest condolences go out to Tanya Roberts’ family and friends during this difficult time.
