Taylor Swift is set to appear in the forthcoming film from director David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle.)

The film is chock-a-block with the finest names in Hollywood including Margot Robbie, Christian Bale, Robert De Niro, John David Washington, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana, Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Michael Shannon and Timothy Olyphant.

It marks David O. Russell’s first directorial stint since the 2015 Jennifer Lawrence-led film, Joy. Details about the forthcoming project are scarce, The Hollywood Reporter notes that the film has already completed production in Los Angeles.

The film is Swift’s first onscreen role since she cut her teeth playing Bombalurina in the arthouse spectacle, Cats. For that film, she teamed up with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the song ‘Beautiful Ghosts.’ Swift has also acted in Gary Marshall’s Valentine’s Day and the YA dystopian flick The Giver. Swift was the subject of the Netflix documentary Miss Americana, which premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.

With no disrespect to her acting repertoire, we feel like Swift is in much safer hands with David O. Russell.

It’s been a whirlwind twelve months for Taylor Swift, who released two record folklore and evermore, and a re-recorded version of her breakthrough album Fearless.
