When COVID-19 forced the cancelation of Aussie comedian Christian Hull’s national tour he decided to send a real ‘fuck you’ to the world.

His tour aptly titled ‘What A Mess’ planned for May/June/July. “Cancelling my shows wasn’t really a decision because all the venues shut down and we really had no option” Hull says.

“It was scary because I had just bought an apartment and moved to Brisbane and was relying on my touring income to keep me on top of everything”.

Lockdown saw Christian throw himself into creating videos for his Youtube and Facebook pages as well as make terrible TikToks. It wasn’t until he started to make little resin pendants as prizes for his supporters when a light bulb moment happened.

“I was making these kitch little pendants for my Facebook supporters. It’s a little ribbon flower cast in resin that I have called my ‘fuck off flower pendants’. As the resin is setting in the moulds I scream abuse into them. Just things like ‘get fucked’, ‘fuck off’ and ‘leave me alone’. Hence creating a pendant that gives off ‘fuck off’ vibes and annoying people will leave you alone.”

It wasn’t until a few of his supporters suggested instead of giving them away he sell them online: “I thought no one in their right mind would by this shit, it’s just too out there.”

He listed them on his website and within minutes had sold over 100. That number ballooning to a staggering 2500. “Turns out people hate other people as much as I do and I have sold so many, it’s hysterical.”

Christian hand makes each pendant and everyday for last six weeks wakes up and is straight to work pouring resin and filling orders.

“Lockdown life has been making pendants, pendants and more pendants. I have made so many that im seeing a physio to treat my back and that fact I have carpel tunnel which is hard to admit to because I feel like that’s an old persons thing.”

“It’s been so much fun to see people sending me pics of them wearing or using their pendant. One lady sent me a photo of it sticky taped to her ceiling because she hates her upstair neighbour and wants her to fuck off and move.”

You can pick up one of the pendents via Christian Hull’s website.
