Following the news that Australia is now expecting their own royal baby with the announcement that Bindi Irwin is pregnant with husband Chandler Powell, Terri Irwin has posted an emotional message to social media.

“This is the best day ever! I am over the moon to announce that @BindiIrwin and @chandlerpowell9 are going to have a baby,” Terri wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of a beaming Bindi and Chandler holding a mini Khaki uniform.

“Words cannot express the love that is filling my heart. While I wish that Steve was here to share this beautiful moment, I know that he would be so proud.”

Bindi’s little brother, Robert Irwin, also took to his Twitter to share the exciting news.

“The best news ever! I am so happy for Bindi & Chandler to be welcoming a new member of the family. I can’t believe I’m going to be an uncle! Incredibly excited for this brilliant new chapter and all the fun adventures ahead with a new little Wildlife Warrior,” he wrote.

It comes hot off Bindi’s announcement over social media, where she announced: “Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021.”

“Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting! It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you.”

Bindi continued, “Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter. We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives.”

“Your support means the world to us. Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes & prayers to our little sweetheart. Love & light,” she concluded.

Steve Irwin, aka Australia’s beloved Crocodile Hunter, tragically died after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb off Port Douglas on September 4, 2006.
