The Block star Sharon Johal has said that she can relate to Megan Markle in the new Harry and Meghan Netflix docuseries when it comes to racial discrimination.
Sharon, who starred in this year’s season of The Block alongside her husband Ankur, told Herald Sun that, like Meghan, she’s experienced discriminatory comments since being in the public eye.
“I don’t agree with everything Meghan has said or done, but I also don’t think anyone would wish to go through such turmoil voluntarily or bring it upon themselves,” she told the publication.
“For me, personally unfortunately and on a smaller scale, I have had similar experiences in workplaces and the industry too.”
In episode three of Harry and Meghan, the Duke of Sussex said“In this family, you are sometimes part of the problem rather than part of the solution” in regard to racism in Britain, adding: “And there is a huge level of unconscious bias.”
Sharon said that she’s experienced racism in Australia first hand in her day-to-day-life.
“I just want to work in my home country, Australia, free from discrimination and afforded equal opportunities in the field I’ve chosen.

“We all need to do the work until there is no longer a conversation, we are all exhausted from it.”
The reality star received a “villain” edit on The Block, and recently shared racist messages she had received from online trolls while the show aired.
“Dirty lying c**ts, both of you filthy f*cking grubby pieces of sh*t! Deny all you f*cking like; we all seen [sic] you search it on your f*cking phones. F*cking cheats, that’s all you two dogs are. F*ck off back to your own f*cking country, you s*rubber b*tch! Your day is coming, mole!” One of the messages read.
Another message read, ““You probably should have stuck to cooking curry in the kitchen!”
