The Block host Scott Cam has admitted that his move on a former season of the home-reno show cost channel Nine half a million dollars.

Teams that compete on the show renovate homes to sell at a profit and whatever amount they make over the reserve price, the contestants get to take home.

Last season, contestants came to Cam and complained that the reserve prices were too high. So, he went to the heads at the channel and convinced them to lower the reserve prices.

Speaking of the move, Cam admitted that he cost Channel 9 a considerable amount of money.

“I got in big trouble there. I cost the network about half a million dollars,” he told Fox FM on Friday.

The Block contestants are currently gearing up for the finale of Season 18 on Sunday, where their projects will go to auction and they will find out how much cash they take home.
