It’s been 28-weeks since we’ve had the opportunity to scoff down the marriage of a well-done snag, caramelised onion, tomato sauce and mustard but that drought is finally over. The Bunnings sausage sizzle is back, baby.

The hallowed ritual will return to Bunnings stores in the ACT this weekend, and NSW stores the weekend of October 10th. The sizzle has been back at select stores in Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia for a while now. We just need those sumptuous bangers to return to Victoria and we’ll feel some semblance of normality.

The Bunnings sausage sizzle is an integral part of the Australian DNA — it’s been a vital source of funds for a number of charities and organisations. It’s also just an excuse to have a cracking sanga.

Obviously, the new operation will abide by strict safety and hygiene protocols — but let’s not take the fun out this affair with the boring, snoring details.
