Although the filming for season four of The Handmaid’s Tale has been delayed due to coronavirus restriction, the trailer has dropped for the upcoming seasons, and it’s honestly chock full of spoilers.
Originally slated for a 2020 release, season four of Margaret Atwood’s television rendition of The Handmaid’s Tale is now set to debut in 2021 for all of us who have been dying to see what June/OfFred gets up to next.
Although it was originally written as a book by Margaret Atwood in 1985, the television series has brought new life to the futuristic dystopia known as Gilead – a country made from the crumbling remains of the United States where the bible is law, and women are but mere fixtures intended for producing spawn after spawn.
While the first three seasons saw main character June/OfFred, played by Elisabeth Moss, go through many trials and tribulations when it comes to claiming her freedom from being a handmaid, the series also poses as a fight for body autonomy.
Now, as we await to find out what happens in the upcoming, and long-awaited, season four, a trailer has dropped, and it has a fair amount of spoilers to be honest.
The trailer begins where we left off in season three – June being carried by her handmaid friends after being injured, while interspersed scenes of June’s latest rebellion plays.
While there is a lot of recycled material in the trailer from season three due to the halt of filming amid COVID-19, the parts of the trailer that are new reveal a bit too much when it comes to the new season of The Handmaid’s Tale.

Watch at your own discretion, but if you’re anything like me, you’ll be trying to forget as much as possible so that the new season is surprising. I repeat, if you hate spoilers you’d be better off not watching.
