A reboot of the reality dating show The Love Boat is heading to Aussie shores and some familiar faces are boarding the ship.

The Daily Telegraph has confirmed that the show will be hosted by TV and radio personality Darren McMullen.

The hotly-anticipated reality show The Real Love Boat is currently filming in the Mediterranean and is being produced by CBS and Network 10.

“I’m so pumped to be part of The Real Love Boat – my first time on a ship and what better way to kick this off than cruising around the Mediterranean in summer,” McMullen said of the presenter role.

“This is one of those experiences that you really have to pinch yourself and can’t believe your luck. I feel incredibly blessed and I’m looking forward to seeing the romance blossom for our singles.”

And, McMullen isn’t the only familiar face that will be gracing the love boat. Below Deck fan favourite Hannah Ferrier has been hired as cruise director. She will be joined by Studio 10 roving reporter, Daniel Doody, as Head of Entertainment, and Princess Cruises’ Captain Paolo Arrigo.

The concept of the show will follow a bunch of Aussie singles as they cruise around and explore their romantic connections. The contestants will be on board the ship for almost a month, but only one winning couple will make it to the final port and win a cash prize and a trip courtesy of Princess Cruises (the show’s exclusive cruise line partner).

“The Real Love Boat’s all-star crew will lead a group of Australia’s most eligible singles, as they set sail across the Mediterranean looking to find their perfect match, throwing the occasional buoy out to those that get stuck in the murky waters of love,” a press statement for the show read.

“Only one couple will be able to make it to the final port. But who will drop anchor and who will be cast off?”

Real-life cruise ship captain Ansardi said of the exciting new show: “As the custodians of the original and beloved Love Boat TV series, it is an honour to participate in a new and contemporary rendition of the show and help our Australian guests find love like the series.

“It is also a wonderful opportunity to introduce Australian viewers to cruising and show why it’s one of the most-loved holidays on offer.”
