The Project host Sarah Harris has sparked a debate between viewers after admitting that she doesn’t wash her bra.

Sarah made the off-hand admission during a segment on last night’s episode.

“I don’t even wash my bras,” Sarah said. Her co-host Jessie Stephens backed Sarah up, saying: “No one washes their bras, Sarah… they’re clean!”

However, panelist Waleed Ally was stunned by the admission, saying: “You know what? They forfeit the right to call men disgusting now, that’s it.”

Fellow male host Sam Taunton added, “What do you mean? It’s on [your body], like you have to wash it!”

Jessie asked Sarah if she wore the same bra regularly, to which her co-host confirmed she did. “I have three: a black one, a strapless one and a normal one.”

The jury was out on the matter, with viewers, with some agreeing with Sarah and Jessie while others found their bra-cleaning practices “disgusting”.

“When your bras cost upwards of $80 each, you can’t afford to have too many or wash them daily,” one person commented on social media.

Another wrote: “No way! Wash daily and I have 12… multiples of the same styles or colours. When you find good support you must take good care of them.”

A third penned, “Living in QLD you definitely need to wash them, sweat and all. Even not living in QLD I would wash them at least after every second wear. How can you think no washing is acceptable? Do you wash your undies? Same same.”

The Project was hit by a mass exodus at the end of last year when long-term hosts Carrie Bickmore, Lisa Wilkinson and Peter Helliar all announced they were leaving. While Waleed Aly remained on the show, Sarah Harris, Hamish Macdonald and Georgie Tunny were announced in December as the permanent hosts joining him on the panel.
