Being true to its name, the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort is anything short of GRAND. For a Marriott resort to have the word “GRAND” attached to its name, it must meet a rigid class criteria. This includes luxurious architectural style, unique cuisine and high-class services while bringing guests the most memorable experiences. Sheraton Grand Danang Resort is the first to meet this class in the South East Asia region.

It is situated on the beautiful white sands of Non Nuoc Beach.

Check-In Experience

Unfortunately for our family of four, our flight to Danang was delayed by several hours and we didn’t arrive at the resort until well after 3am. To make matters worse, our airline also lost our baggage so by the time we actually arrived at the resort (about a 20 minute drive from Danang airport), we were a little frazzled and extremely exhausted. However, once we got in, the lovely staff at the Sheraton Grand Resort told us that they’ll chase up the airline for us tomorrow and that we could hold off on checking in until we got a good night’s sleep. They assured us that we could sort everything out in the morning.

We were so relieved and so grateful for their empathy.

The fun part was they grabbed the small luggage we did have and put the 4 of us on a buggy to whisk us to our room. Our kids loved the ride as the concierge pointed towards all their facilities so we had better bearings of the resort when we woke up.

Sheraton Grand Danang Resort Room Review

Our assigned room was 2051. It is situated on the first floor just outside their infamous infinity pool so we never had to walk far with the kids.

We stayed in their ‘family suite’ which consisted of 2 bedrooms, each with an ensuite, wardrobe, 65 inch LED TV and balcony, living room and a kitchenette. It was the perfect space to have with young ones as we never felt we were on top of each other. When the kids woke up, they would just lounge in the living room and play with their toys until we were ready for breakfast.

But let’s talk about their beds! It was seriously one of the most comfortable hotel beds we’ve ever slept on and I wish I could take both the bed and pillows home with us. It’s all thanks to the Sheraton Signature Sleep ExperienceTM bed with Sheraton’s signature premium linen.

Facilities

Pool

The resort boasts its iconic infinity swimming pool. Spanning 250 meters in length, it is the longest infinity pool in Vietnam.

Nestled between tropical gardens, the pool ends at a semi-circular nook facing the beach, where you can indulge in some exotic cocktails while enjoying a breathtaking view of the azure sea.

Kid’s Water Park

This was obviously a fan favourite in our household.

The water park includes a water slide that leads to the shallow kids pool so even the smallest of kids could enjoy the facilities. There is also plenty of shade for parents to lounge around and watch and a lifeguard on stand by at all times to help supervise kids (or offer parents cocktails).

Gospel, our 7 year old, bumped her mouth off the side of the slide and was in distress. The lifeguard was quick to come with ice and then offered her free ice cream to cheer her up. Did I mention how amazing the service was from every single employee at the resort?

Kid’s Club

There is a free kids club also on the grounds. It consists of three amazing air conditioned rooms.

The first room is a ball pit and slide as well as gigantic blocks to build forts.

The second room is a craft and toy room. The workers will often print off colouring in sheets for my kids to colour in or sit down and do crafts such as making paper hats.

The third room has two Playstations and a Nintendo Switch for older children.

While the kids club is free, it is not supervised at all times and they prefer parents come in and supervise their own children. I would often bring my laptop and work on the comfy couches while the kids had a play.

Kid’s Beach Zone

The kids had their own beach zone equipped with awesome beach toys and a lifeguard nearby to keep watch if they wanted to cool down in the water.

They were kept entertained for hours as they played in their own little safe haven.

Resort Dining

There are 3 restaurant to choose from:

Table 88

Table 88 offers a buffet breakfast every morning with an amazing selection of both Vietnamese and international cuisine. The range included a Pho station, a juice station, an egg station, a pancake and waffle station and most importantly for our kids, a bakery section including fresh donuts and cake pops.

If you like iced coffee, you must try their Vietnamese Iced Coconut Coffee. Delicious!

La Plage

The restaurant is located right on the beach with the best views in the resort. The restaurant has a kids menu with excellent healthy options including vegetable sides as well as the usual kids favourites. They were always quick to give our kids colouring in sheets to keep them entertained while we ate our lunch in peace.

The Grill

The fanciest of all the restaurants here. Awesome Western style food and amazing service.

The wine selection is expansive and the steaks were of high quality.

The crew were kind enough to serve us complimentary entrees and palette cleansers too. Ambience was lovely, as the restaurant was overlooking the beautiful pool.

Overall impressions

By far, the best kid friendly resort we’ve ever stayed in. The grounds were clean and well maintained, the service of all staff were exceptional and the facilities were world class. We can not wait to come back here!
