Legendary Los Angeles music photographer, director and producer Chris Cuffaro is returning to Australian shores for his second exhibition of the year. During this trip, Cuffaro will be celebrating his iconic shoot with INXS legend Michael Hutchence.

Hutchence and Cuffaro met in Los Angeles back in 1993, and spent the day shooting together for Detour magazine. It was that shoot that birthed some history’s most iconic photographs of Michael Hutchence.

In celebration of Australian music month, Cuffaro will debut his Hutchence archive at the Blender Gallery in Paddington, from Thursday, November 21st. He will be attending the exhibition and is willing to talk with anyone who wants to know more about his shoot with Hutchence.

“Michael was one of a kind and will be remembered as one of the greatest singers ever. I am beyond proud of this shoot and truly believe it was one of my best,” shared Cuffaro. “He could be a mischievous subject but he was a truly kind and warm person.”

Cuffaro’s previous Australian shows include Greatest Hits: George Michael exhibition which showed at Black Eye Gallery back in 2018. More recently, Cuffaro showcased his Greatest Hits: Grunge exhibition at Blender Gallery in May.  The archive illuminated the subversive 1990s Seattle grunge scene and featured iconic photos of Nirvana, Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden.
