Well this is disappointing. It looks like that Tiger King series which was once set to star Nicolas Cage is no longer going ahead.

As reported by Deadlinethe show has now been dropped by Amazon Prime and it seems as though it is unlikely that it will be picked up anywhere else.

What’s more is that the show never actually made it past the script stage, despite the announcement being made back last year, where the show was reportedly greenlit and in development.

Earlier this month, news broke that another Joe Exotic series was in the works, this one to star Kyle MacLachlan who has signed onto the cast to play the role of Carole Baskin’s husband, Harold Baskin.

The show which is yet to be titled is focused on Carole Baskin and it follows Joe Exotic’s attempts to out Baskin for her ‘hypocrisy’ which comes as a result of them both profiting off their exotic jungle cats.

Baskin, who has a checkered past of her own also attempts to shut down Exotic’s escapades. But this of course results in a dangerous level of rivalry and competition.

Up until now there hadn’t been any updates on the Nicolas Cage series, leaving many open-ended questions when news of another Tiger King series altogether was in the works, with different actors and different platforms.

As per Deadline, the Amazon Prime drama series which was set to star Nicolas Cage has been dropped following the Netflix original’s decline in popularity.
