A remastered version of James Cameron’s popular movie Titanic will be released in time for Valentine’s Day next year.

The Oscar-winning movie will be available in cinemas in 3D 4K HDR and high-frame rate and will be rolled out internationally by Disney from February 10th 2023

Cameron’s producing partner and COO of Lightstorm Entertainment Jon Landau, gave a sneak peak of the remastered movie to attendees at Disney’s CineEurope presentation in Barcelona yesterday.

Titanic’s main characters Jack and Rose were famously played by Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. The two actors became close when the movie was being filmed back in 1995, and have stayed friends ever since.

In December last year, Kate Winslet revealed she “couldn’t stop crying” after being reunited with her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio for the first time in three years.

Speaking to The Guardian, Winslet explained that the pair had until recently been separated due to the ongoing pandemic.

“I’ve known him for half my life! It’s not as if I’ve found myself in New York or he’s been in London and there’s been a chance to have dinner or grab a coffee and a catchup,” she said.

She continued: “We haven’t been able to leave our countries. Like so many friendships globally, we’ve missed each other because of COVID-19.”

“He’s my friend, my really close friend… we’re bonded for life.”

In the same interview, Winslet went on to reflect on how young they both were when they filmed Titanic, noting that she “turned 21 on that shoot, and Leo turned 22.”

Meanwhile, she told Rolling Stone earlier this year that the co-stars shared “really graphic” sex tips during the seven months stint they spent shooting together.

“You know, some very, very personal things, asking each other for advice,” she said.

“Not necessarily comparing notes but sort of, ‘No, don’t do it like that, do it like this.’ He’s very good at that. I have to say, a lot of those sexual tips he’s given me have worked. And I know it’s vice versa.”
