An Australian production company is calling for contestants to participate in a brand-new global adventure travel competition.
Endemol Shine Australia has put out a casting call for a new program called Globetrotters, which invites people to grab one of their nearest and dearest and pack their bags for “the adventure of a lifetime”.
Promising a “huge cash prize” to the winning team, the series promises to send contestants to “destinations you have only dreamed of”.
According to the casting website, applicants must be over the age of 18 and fully vaccinated for COVID as of January 1st 2023, they must be available for one day between November 28th and December 9th 2022, and they must be available for shooting between January 30th and March 17th 2023.
The production company is the same one behind the local series’ of Hunted, Masterchef, Big Brother, Ninja Warrior, SAS and more.
No broadcast partner has yet been announced for the new series, but the casting call comes just after Channel 9 revealed its own new travel adventure program The Summit which will be filmed in New Zealand and also produced by Endemol Shine.
Globetrotters was not announced at Channel 10’s 2023 program reveal (who already have The Amazing Race), which means it may be Channel 7’s answer to the competitive travel format.

Channel 7 will reveal details of its 2023 programming line-up at an Upfront presentation on October 25th.
While it is currently unknown what Globetrotters contestants will be required to do to win the prize, Mediaweek provided details of The Summit last month: a group of strangers, each carrying an equal share of $1 million, will trek across New Zealand’s alpine region to reach the peak of a distant mountain within 14 days.
When jokingly asked if people will die, Nine’s chief sales officer Michael Stephenson said, “I can categorically say that won’t be the case.
“There are a range of challenges, and you’ve got to be very strategic in terms of how you will get there.”
