If you’ve been binge-watching the latest season of MAFS, like the majority of Australians, then you should be familiar with the scene where a charming groom told his new bride ‘Sorry about the breath. I just had some chicken Twisties.’

His bride, Kate, responded with a wide-eyed look of disgust and managed to get out an awkward giggle. Social media users responded quickly and strongly to the interaction, exclaiming that chicken Twistie breath is “gross” and “shouldn’t be consumed before a date”.

Now, the creative (and opportunistic) marketing team over at Twisties has jumped on the opportunity to release a new product; mint Twisties.

“Following the iconic episode of Married at First Site that aired on Monday, Twisties was shocked to see the reaction from fans that the iconic Chicken-flavoured Twistie could no longer be enjoyed pre-date (or pre-wedding) due to the stench a bride claimed was left on a certain grooms breath,” a press release from Twisties said.

However, Twisties Marketing Manager Katherine Twomey was quick to assure Aussies that she personally doesn’t believe that chicken twisties give bad breath.

Regardless, the potato chip brand plans to trial the product in an effort to gauge the public’s reaction, and potentially release mint Twisties to sit next to Cheese Twisties and Chicken Twisties at supermarkets.
