If I’m ever arrested, this is the only crime I’m willing to go down for. Two pig farmers in Western Australia are set to face jail time after being convicted of illegally importing Danish pig semen concealed in shampoo bottles.
The Perth district court has sentenced Torben Soerensen to three years in prison, while Henning Laue faces a two-year sentence after they both plead guilty to breaching quarantine and biosecurity laws.
The farmers illegally important the pig spunk from Denmark on multiple occasions between May 2009 and March 2017. The golden cum was used in GD Pork’s artificial breeding program and several sows were direct offspring of the Danish boars. Making for a well-travelled hunk of pork but a potential biohazard nightmare.
“This case shows a disturbing disregard for the laws that protect the livelihoods of Australia’s 2,700 pork producers, and the quality of the pork that millions of Australians enjoy each year,” shared Federal agriculture minister Bridget McKenzie.
“GD Pork imported the semen illegally in an attempt to get an unfair advantage over its competitors, through new genetics.”
So yeah, if you were thinking of doing a suss spooge transaction, know that your actions could have dire consequences.
In other ridiculous animal news; A 9-year-old girl was injured in Yellowstone National Park after a bull bison charged her and sent her flying into the air. If that doesn’t satiate your desire for animal ludicrousy, may we direct you to a story of an “exotic” bird that was rescued by a couple of good samaritans in the U.K, that turned out to just be a seagull covered in turmeric?
God bless mother nature.
