Uber now has car rental on offer so you can take that long-awaited road trip you’ve been yearning to go on.
Interstate travel is FINALLY back on the cards, and God knows we need a bloody holiday at the rate that 2020 is travelling. With NSW, Victoria, and Queensland allowing for interstate travel, Uber has rolled out their new line of rental cars so you don’t have to worry about missing out on road trips because of your lack of vehicle.
Trialling in Australia as a world first, the ride-sharing giants are rolling out their first segment of car rentals in Brisbane today, with Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Adelaide to shortly follow.
Initially, Uber Rent will only be available to about half of the ride-sharing application users, so if you’re a bit bummed that it’s not available on your phone yet, see if one of your road tripping mates might have it.
Of course, it’s quite easy to use, just as the Uber app is itself. You’ll just need to select the ‘Rentals’ option of your menu and you’ll be on your way to choosing from a selection of cars, both big and small, from Cartrawler – a company that helps with car rentals by checking through all exisiting rental sites so you can get the best deal possible.
Keen to get yourself on the road and in for a much-needed, and likely well-deserved, holiday? Cars will start from around $40 to $76 depending on your needs for either a small car or a larger SUV. Luckily, if you’re keen to go on a longer trip, the prices cheapen for extended bookings.
From this trial, we could see Uber Rent roll out nationwide, if it’s a success. So, what are you waiting for? Book your car via Uber’s website, and get that vacation underway.
