Unyoked is searching for nature writing, poems and short essays to be considered for its residency program and publication in its first anthology. 

If you have secret dreams of conjuring the strange magic of Mary Oliver, Unyoked are looking for those that write about nature in a way that is “vivid, evocative and fresh.” The judging panel is offering four residents regular, no-strings access to a wilderness for the next six months to give them space and inspiration to hone their craft.

Winners will also be profiled and featured across the publication’s website and newsletter. Poetry, essays and nature writing up to 800 words will be considered. Entries are open now. Find key dates below:

July 30: All finalists announced
August 7: Residents announced
September 1: Writer’s Residency begins
November 10: Launch Event
November 14:  Anthology released
