The first trailer for Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey’s forthcoming mental health documentary series, The Me You Can’t See, has arrived.
The Apple TV docuseries is set to explore “honest discussions about mental health and emotional wellbeing,” with everyday people and celebrities. “All over the world, people are in some kind of mental, psychological, emotional pain,” Oprah says to Prince Harry in the trailer. The likes of Glenn Close, NBA star DeMar DeRozan, and Lady Gaga will all appear in the documentary.
“To make that decision to receive help is not a sign of weakness. In today’s world, more than ever, it’s a sign of strength,” Harry says in the trailer. “The results of this year will be felt for decades. The kids, families, husbands, wives, everybody.”
Both The Duke and Duchess of Sussex feature in the trailer, which is indispersed with archival footage from the 1997 funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales. The trailer seems to allude to Harry reckoning with his mental health in the wake of his mother’s death.
The trailer arrives days after Harry sat down in conversation with Dax Shepard on Armchair Expert podcast, where he delved into the failings of his father, Prince Charles.
Harry acknowledged he wanted to “break the cycle” of “genetic pain and suffering” for his own children. He said of Charles: “He’s treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?”
The Apple TV+ series premieres on Friday, May 21. You can watch a trailer below.
