To celebrate the release of the new Russo Brothers film Cherry starring Tom Holland, we’re giving away 50 three-month subscriptions to Apple TV+.
Cherry, released exclusively on Apple TV+ March 12, stars Holland as a wayward Army veteran suffering PTSD who has resorted to bank-robbing to feed a spiralling opiate addiction.
It’s already being hailed as Holland’s most mature role on-screen yet. In any sense, it’s a dramatic departure from his last outing as Spider Man in the Russo Brothers-directed Marvel films.
While Cherry grapples with heavy themes, the Russo Brothers cast Holland specifically to add a sense of lightness and balance to the movie.
“We wanted to do a version of the movie that was palatable, not like taking your medicine,” said the Russos in an interview with Variety. “Tom is so likable. He’s such an appealing actor, and so good. Once we started thinking about him as a character, the whole movie opened up for us as a possibility because he was our road to an accessible, exciting, enjoyable version of a difficult film.”
Cherry is the latest in a run of critically acclaimed Apple Original films including Hala, Beastie Boys Story and the new documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry.
