It’s the long weekend of the longest year of our collectives baby and we deserve to celebrate. We’ve all been stuck in the terrible predicament where it gets to the Easter long weekend and we’ve forgotten to stock up on supplies.
To save you from the dreadful fate of scraping together an unsatisfying pantry dish dinner, we’ve put a list of all the opening hours of supermarkets in Sydney this Easter long weekend.
Good Friday shopping hours
- Coles supermarkets will be closed statewide
- Woolworths supermarkets will trade between 11 am until 5 pm
- Aldi will be closed statewide
- Most IGA stores will remain open
- Bottle stores like BWS, Dan Murphy’s and Vintage Cellars will be closed. If you wanted to sink piss over this holy season stock up now because the weekend rush is sure to leave you slim pickings.
Easter Saturday shopping hours
Easter Saturday is not a public holiday, so most retailers and stores will trade as per usual. In the spirit of continuity, we’ll do a dot point situation.
- Coles supermarkets will be open from 7 am until 9 pm/10 pm statewide
- Woolworths supermarkets will from 7 am until 9 pm/10 pm statewide
- Aldi will be open from 8:30 am until 8 pm statewide
- Restaurants, cafes and other venues of that ilk will all be open for all ya eggs benedict needs.

- Coles supermarkets across the state will be open from 7 am until 10 pm
- Woolworths supermarkets will be open from 9 am until 6 pm
- Most ALDI stores will be closed statewide — though some will remain open, check your local for specifics.
Easter Monday shopping hours
- Coles supermarkets will be open from 8 am until 10 pm
- Woolworths supermarkets will be open between 8 am until 10 pm
- Most ALDI stores will be open from 8:30am and will close depending on location
