Craft beer fans at the ready!

The Willoughby Craft Beer Fair has returned and is set to brew up a storm with an all-day craft beer tasting fiesta. There’ll be wine, cider and delectable nibblies aplenty with aficionados and enthusiasts revelling in the day’s entertainment. And lest we forget about the jumping castle (yes, we just said jumping caslte!), interactive planting garden and petting zoo – all proof that the kiddies can come along, too!

But what you’re really here for is the finest of brews, right? “Our focus in 2013 continues to be centred on celebrating the best of Australian beer with a range of local, independent and larger craft breweries, with a touch of New Zealand’s best in there also,” says Willoughby Hotel Venue Manager John McGurk.

“Each year we aim to bring a truly unique experience to the Willoughby community that celebrates the wonderful culture and tradition present throughout Australia’s breweries,” continues McGurk. “From small family owned to nationally recognised labels, we aim to present to the public their commonality; great beer.”

Participting brewers include: Monteith’s, Stone & Wood, Endeavour, Riverside, Longboard, Malt Shovel Brewery, Matilda Bay, Little Creatures, The Little Brewing Company, Balmain Brewing, The Australian Brewery, Mountain Goat, McLaren Vale and wines from TWE.

And although it may seem like it, it’s not just about the beer. Trust us. “While this is a festival ‘about’ craft beer, that’s not all it is,” says McGurk, “with a range of ciders and wines, there’s something for everyone, not to mention the diverse range of foods and activities for the kids. It will truly be a day for the whole family.”

The Willoughby Craft Beer Fair takes place on Sunday September 15 at the Willoughby Hotel.
