It seems like the absolute perfect time for Australian Women’s Weekly to spark some joy, reissuing a celebratory edition of the iconic 1980s baking cookbook.

Joining forces with Allen’s lollies, Women’s Weekly are bringing back the Children’s Birthday Cake Book which features over 30 cake recipes ranging all the way from cult classic, to party themes and a lot in between, as reported by news.com.au.

The best part about the book is that the recipes are basically cake hacks to get us all baking like pros.

Children’s Birthday Cake Book is also celebrating 130 of Allen’s lollies which have no doubt been incorporated into many of the recipes.

Speaking to news.com.au, Nestlé’s head of marketing confectionery, Joyce Tan says that they knew that the book would be “a match made in heaven”.

Tan said, “This is the first time Allen’s and The Australian Women’s Weekly have come together, to add a sweet Allen’s twist to a beloved classic – the 1980s Birthday Cake Book.”

“Just like Allen’s, AWW the Cake Book has been a childhood favourite in Australia for many years,” Tan added. “So we knew it would be a match made in heaven. And, what’s a birthday party without a party cake.”

Executive general manager of publishing at Are Media, Sarah-Belle Murphy also said on the book, “There is no better time to get into the kitchen and enjoy these new creations.”
