For decades and decades, Woolworths mud cake has reigned supreme; it’s a dessert that’s commonly offered up at everything from kindergarten lunches to engagement parties – and is generally loved by most Aussies.

This is exactly why their variation of the classic is so exciting. The grocery storeWoo

The dessert will feature a raspberry-flavoured chocolate cake that’s topped with chocolate ganache, marshmallows and shredded coconut. It goes on sale at Woolworths from Wednesday, June 1st and will cost shoppers $5.50.

Speaking of the exciting new addition, Woolworths Category Manager for Bakery, Chris Chase, told news.com.au, “We wanted to create something exciting that combines our popular Mud Cake with a much loved Aussie treat”.

“We know our customers look forward to the limited edition Mud Cake flavours we sell every year,” he added.

“The result is a decadent Mud Cake that has sentimental meaning to Australian households with the scent of raspberry and coconut topped with marshmallows, combined with the rich, chocolate flavour, reminding customers of a decadent Rocky Road dessert.”

Though the cake isn’t on sale yet, Woolworths have teased a little snippet of the dessert on their TikTok page. “Welcome to the family, Rocky Road Mud Cake. Limited time only,” the official account captioned a video of the mud cake.
