Improvisational gospel-jazz supergroup The Word will hit Australian shores early next year for Bluesfest, and today they’ve announced some sideshows.

Featuring pedal-steel guitaristRobert Randolph, keyboardist John Medeski and all three North Mississippi Allstars (guitarist Luther Dickinson, drummer Cody Dickinson), The Word’s latest albumSoul Foodwas recorded in Memphis at the home of Hi Records (a studio untouched since 1969, where Al Green recorded all his hits; where Mark Ronson recorded ‘Uptown Funk’).

They’ll hit The Factory Theatre on Sunday March 27. Tickets via Bluesfest.
