Craft beer brewers Young Henrys have declared this Thursday, February 3rd as Dylan Alfroth Day, celebrating the incredible achievements of bona fide Aussie legend Dylan Alcott.

It’s been a big few weeks for tennis star Alcott. He was named Australian of the Year 2022. He played his last-ever Australian Open Final on the weekend. He received a lot of love from the tennis world upon his retirement, including from Andy Murray. He necked beer from a water bottle during a hilarious post-match interview.

And on this Thursday, February 3rd, the inaugural Dylan Alfroth Day will be held, a day organised by Young Henrys to celebrate Alcott’s retirement and career.

“Here’s to an Aussie legend,” the Sydney brewers said in a statement. “A trailblazing character of Australian sport for over ten years, Dylan has continued to be an advocate and voice for people living with a disability on a global level.

Helping to enrich the lives of young people with disabilities, the Dylan Alcott Foundation was established to deliver mentoring, grants, and scholarships for people in Australia; aiming to deliver pathways and inspire the masses to fulfill their dreams. Young Henrys are proud to support the work of the foundation and Dylan beyond his retirement.

As part of the day’s celebrations, a mural created by Gadigal artist Jeswri (Jessie Wright) will be unveiled in dedication to Alcott at Le Bon Ton in Melbourne.

“I’m extremely thankful for the support from the team at Young Henrys,” Alcott shared. “Dylan Alfroth day will be one to remember and I can’t wait to celebrate Thursday with many Newtowners in hand in my hometown of Melbourne. Cheers guys!”
