The Young Liberal’s have been giving their party some serious headaches this summer.
After some of their members lit up schoolies with racist slurs the party reps have kept at it, this time interrupting a drag queen reading stories to children and heckling her.
The LNP members crashed the Brisbane Square Library’s Drag Queen Storytime event, surrounding the queen who was reading and chanting “drag queen’s are not for kids.”
Police were eventually called, with organizers telling them that the ‘protestors’ were scaring the children present. Watch the footage below.

“It saddens me to see such hate in young people,” said author RJ Miles.
“(They) turned a beautiful event into a scary moment for our young family.”

Since the video supporters of the library have condemned the attack, posting messages of support on social media.
“This is vile. It is not a peaceful protest it is bullying and intimidation,” posted one user.
“Nothing but bigoted, homophobic, disrespectful, hateful human beings. These people are what’s wrong with the world we live in today,” read another comment.
The video is a sad reminder that homophobia is alive and well in Australia – something that we should never lose sight of in the fight against it.
