If you’ve yet to visit Melbourne’s Yulongfu to try their exquisite dumplings, then let us introduce you to your one true love.

Nothing quite beats a night out for dumplings – either steamed or pan fried, you can always find such joy in those little flavour-filled parcels, and Yulongfu is absolutely the specialist in them. If you haven’t had a chance to swing by their Bourke Street location, then we’re about to show you a million reasons why you should.

Working with recipes that date back to the early 1900s, husband and wife duo Yong and Emily Liu boast that they’ve likely got the best Xiaolongbao in the city. If you’re curious as to what that is, it’s a beautiful, 16-pleat dumpling that’s filled to the maximum with soupy goodness. Feeling hungry, yet?

To take the deliciousness even further, Yulongfu also has a black truffle Xiaolongbao chock-full of pork soup and delicately wrapped in a black truffle casing, as well as heaps of dumplings to choose from like pan fried vegetarian dumplings filled with black fungus, shiitake mushrooms, and vegetables that will send your tastebuds dancing with delight.

If you’re hungry for more than just dumplings, they also have some of the most delicious hand-pulled noodles that you’ll ever taste, succulent drunken chicken marinated in Chinese wine, scrumptious soups galore, and heaps of fantastic sides to accompany the vast selection of dumplings on offer like their stir-fried Chinese broccoli with garlic or their deep fried bean curd with spicy salt and chilli.

Keen to get your hands on some of incredible dumplings and fall in love with your new favourite dinner spot? Then give Yulongfu a whirl, and check out their delicious Shanghainese cuisine.
