In a brief interview Zazie Beetz, who was asked about Domino, told us what she knows about Deadpool 3 so far.

While attending the premiere for Atlanta Season 3, Zazie Beetz was asked about her knowledge on the future of Domino, the character she played in 2018’s hit Deadpool 2. She responded, “I’ve heard Deadpool 3 has a director. I’m sorry… I have heard that!” Check out the full interview below.

Her statement gives the impression that information on the third Deadpool installment is far and few between, and that her character might be in limbo for now. This would be unfortunate, as Beetz’s portrayal of Domino was well received by fans and was one of many breakout characters that came from the movie.

The first Deadpool movie was limited in the characters it could use, as it was seen as more of a risky bet by the studio at the time. But after breaking rated-R box office records, any restraints the first movie had were largely removed for the sequel. Deadpool 2 saw a large expansion in the characters it could use including the Juggernaut, Cable, and Zazie Beetz’s Domino.

In Deadpool 2, Deadpool gathers together a team of superheroes through applications he receives. He takes the team on a mission that sees them all die except for Domino, as she can bend luck to her will to keep her safe from virtually any harm.

Zazie talked further on Domino in an interview she did with Collider last year.

“No, I haven’t [heard about Domino’s return]. I would love to revive the role. That was always in the world of what was potentially going to happen. I haven’t had any specific conversations around it. But I’m interested. Not only would I love to revive the role, I would love to figure out a way to make a Domino movie or something like that. We’ll see what happens, but I haven’t had any personal conversations.”
