Sydney-based painter Anthony Bartok returns with a solo exhibition of developed maturity and humourous undertones.

His first solo show in six years, Bartok’s series of paintings and prints have developed as a result of his recent studies at the National Art School.

The new exhibition sees the seasoned painter and printmaker return to humour within his work, taking aim at accepted social norms of the day with a funny twist.

In using visual language to express his personal philosophical observations on contemporary life, Bartok generates works that spark curiosity and use humour to depict critical issues of our time.

Anthony Bartok’s exhibtion runs at Chippendale’s MOPgallery, Wednesday April 6 to Sunday May 1.
