The Head Onphotography festival is calling for 2015 submissions to the prestigious art prize, worth $50,000.

Emerging photographers, photo journalists and artists are given the opportunity to submit their work into one of four categories; portrait, landscape, mobile or moving image.

Since its launch in 2010, Head On continues to grow, each year showcasing the works of over 900 photographers, and holding workshops and presentations over the duration of the festial. In 2014 Head Ondrew over 4,000 global submissions and saw entries from both local and upcoming artists, as well as internationally renowned photographers.

The portrait and landscape prizes allow entrants to push conventions of traditional formats, while the mobile and moving prizes allow for a less traditional artistic practice.Festival director Moshe Rosenzveig is looking to keep an open mind, expecting a huge variety of images in next year’s festival.

The winners will be announced at Head On‘s opening night and exhibited from Friday May 1 to Sunday May 31 throughout the festival. Sumbissions close on Sunday March 1.
