Illuminate Educate, a new independent theatre company, has announced its second production,Neghbourhood Watch.

The play explores the relationship between Ana, an 80-year-old Hungarian-Australian widow, and her neighbour Catherine, a young aspiring actor. The unlikely friendship develops as the two share their stories, wisdom and wounds, discovering they have more to learn from one another than initally thought.

As they listen to each other’s tales, the two immerse themselves in war-torn Hungary, attempting to gain a better understanding of what it truly means to be “in the life”.

The unlikely pair bridge the gap between age, culture, and their fence to form an enduring relationship that is a celebration of the strength, hope and humour that can arise from tragic situations.

Neighbourhood Watch will play at Bondi Pavilion Theatre from Thursday May 28 – Saturday June 6. Tickets and more information are available at Illuminate Educate’s website.
