The Local, a play about a local, by a local author, is set to be performed at your local. How’s that for synchronicity?

The Local, a new play set in a pub that is inexorably becoming yuppy-fied, is set to debut as part of Insomniac Theatre’s new season.

A perfect example of the incredible range of talents smaller-scale theatre has to offer,The Local has been written by Richie Black and is set to be directed by Maggie Scott, with a small but committed group of rising professionals rounding out the cast. Oh, and did we mention it’s going to be performed in an actual, real life pub? What more could you ask for?

The Local hits The Exchange Hotel, Balmain, on Tuesday March 8. Tickets are available online, here.
