Jazz musician Michael Griffin has announced a show in Surry Hills to launch his new album Unexpected Greeting.

Griffin has spent the last few years performing across both Australia and the US, after being a semi-finalist at the 2013 Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition in Washington, D.C., and playing with artists such as Rodney Whittaker and James Morrison.

Griffin has also announced a one-off show with Dale Barlow called Tribute to Cannonball/Coltrane, in which both musicians, backed by The John Harkins Trio, will cover and pay tribute to the seminal work of John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley.

Michael Griffin launches his album Unexpected Greeting at Venue 505 on Wednesday April 15. Visit the artist’s Facebook for more details.
