For an artist who has never before released an album, Mura Masa sure has made a name for himself. The British producer’s self-titled debut is bursting with big collaborations and his signature charismatic electronica.

Since dropping his first EP in 2015, Mura Masa’s singles have been going down a treat. His new album crosses many genres.

After previously collaborating on ‘What If I Go?’, rapper and vocalist Bonzai makes her welcome return on ‘Nuggets’; British pop artist Charli XCX brings a whole lot of commercial appeal to the album with her track ‘1 Night’; and everyone’s favourite panda fan Desiigner grimes it up a touch for ‘All Around The World’.

‘What If I Go?’, ‘Firefly’ and ‘Love$ick’ (featuring A$AP Rocky) have all been out for a while now, and add some warm familiarity to the album. These three songs are definitely stand-outs.

Mura Masa’s musical stylings have evolved rapidly over the last few years. His tight production skills and ability to entice collaborations from some very impressive names is entirely to his credit. But there is a much stronger sense of adventure in his earlier releases than in his brand new music.

Mura Masa is a spirited debut album full of well-structured electronica and much loved fan favourites.

Mura Masa drops July 14 through Anchor Point Records.
