1. Growing Up

Thomas grew up around music gear and musicians, as his father is an incredible bassist and musician in general. Tim and I did not grow up around musicians, but had strong interests in music from early on.

2. Inspirations

I like anyone out there who is getting weird with it, so the whole Daughters crew, Helms Alee, and Tera Melos. Basically anyone on Sargent House. They don’t follow trends, they make their own path. The main inspiration is nighttime and nature.

3. The Music You Make

Lots of sweat, spit, ringing ears, a million pull-offs, possible broken bones, and a better experience than they ever expected.

4. Music, Right Here, Right Now

I feel pretty disconnected from a lot of the ‘scene’ these days. For the most part, I stay focused on trying to make our music as good as possible, without worrying about what others are doing, probably to our detriment. There are a million more bands with Bandcamps than ever before, so it seems harder to break through, unless you are something unique. My favorite bands as of late are Cock & Swan, Wild Powwers, Big Scary, Chon and Save Us From The Archon.

The Fall Of Troy play Manning Bar on Wednesday July 6. They also play Max Watt’s in Melbourne on Tuesday July 5 and Max Watt’s in Brisbane on Thursday July 7.
