Sydney's Lockout Laws Will Be Debated In Parliament This Afternoon
It's the issue that has divided Sydney - metaphorically and physically - for more than two years.
Now, the controversial lockout laws that have come to define Sydney's nightlife will be the subject of debate in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, the lower house of the State Parliament.
The debate comes after the Keep Sydney Open petition surpassed its goal of 10,000 signatures. NSW Greens Member for Newtown Jenny Leong will introduce the discussion of "a petition requesting development of policies that ensure a diversity of venues and late-night entertainment options and an end to lock outs in Sydney".
While this is just the first of several steps on the path to legislative change, a strong showing of support is important, so attendees are encoraged to register on Jenny Leong's website.

The debate is scheduled to commence at 4:30pm today, Thursday May 12, and if you can't make it along, Parliament streams its sessions here.
