Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King And I will be brought to life by a community theatre group this March.
This award-winning musical has been perfomed on some of the world’s most famous stages, and now Rockdale Musical Society is bringing the show to Sydney’s south. One of the city’s premiere community theatre companies, the all-ages cast consists of almost 60 singers, actors and dancers, and a full orchestra.
From the creators of The Sound Of Music and Oklahoma!, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical will be directed by Cathy Boyle. Set in the 1860s, the production has acquired more than 130 period costumes and a set designed to give the audience a glimpse inside a Bangkok royal palace.
Rockdale Musical Society’s The King And I will run for six shows from Friday March 3 to Sunday March 12.
