Attention all young writers aged 13-17: the Younger Young Writers’ Program (YYWP) is a series of events being held again this year to help you succeed in your career paths.

The YYWP will be starting in September and finishing in November. It will connect writers online and open up the National Young Writers’ Festival for young people unable to attend the October long weekend program in Newcastle, making it a truly national festival.

Fresh from winning the Express Media Award for Best Program for Young Writers in NSW, the YYWP is back with another year of inspiring workshops, much-needed advice and impressive mentorship.

It’s going to be even better this year with support from the wonderful Centre for Youth Literature. This year’s participants will have access to exclusive programs run by YA author Will Kostakis as well as discussion with fantasy legend Garth Nix.

The National Young Writers’ Festival (NYWF) occurs annually in Newcastle over the Labour Day Holiday Weekend, which this year falls from Thursday October 2 to Sunday October 5. To learn more visit the Younger Young Writers’ Program
